Golf Course Superintendent

Summary

The Golf Course Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all areas of the Golf Course property in order to provide a positive culture in associates and customers while delivering a continuous positive experience for members and their guest.

Qualifications

  • ·         5+ Years of Experience with golf course operations.
  • ·        Background in golf course management, agronomy, or business management.
  • ·        Must possess strong operational, financial, and analytical skills and will not be afraid to jump into the operations if or when needed.
  • ·        Ability to analyze and solve challenges, efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure situations and work flexible hours as required including evenings/weekends.
  • ·        Demonstrate excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • ·        Possess Maryland Nutrient Management License.
  • ·        Possess Maryland Pesticide License.

Responsibilities

  • ·        Work closely and effectively communicate with the Board of Directors, Clubhouse, Pro shop, and Agronomy Departments to provide a quality experience for members and their guest.
  • ·        Responsible for monitoring the performance of all daily operations ensuring all departments are maintaining the highest standards.
  • ·        Assist the Board in coordinating the development of the club’s long-range and annual (business) plans.
  • ·        Assist the Board in implementing marketing and member relations programs to promote the club’s services and facilities to potential and present members, including newsletters and other external communications.
  • ·        Deliver and promote prompt, friendly service to all members and their guests, making them feel welcome and part of the club family.
  • ·        Maintains all grounds including the golf course, clubhouse surrounds, and other maintainable property.
  • ·        Supervises all planting, fertilizing, and chemical applications, and other care of turf, plants, shrubs, and trees on the golf course and clubhouse surroundings.
  • ·        Informs members about the present and future maintenance activities Coordinates scheduling of all personnel assigned to the department.
  • ·        Prepares and manages an annual budget plan for the golf course maintenance operation.
  • ·        Maintains inventory and oversees all repairs and scheduled maintenance of all golf course maintenance equipment Implements and enforces a comprehensive safety program for employees of the maintenance department Supervises maintenance and operation of drainage, irrigation, and other mechanical watering systems.
  • ·        Ensures that the golf course is providing healthy and high-quality playing conditions for members and guests of the property.
  • ·        Coordinate plans with the Food and Beverage Manager for food and beverage needs for all golf functions.
  • ·        Attend conferences, workshops, meetings, and trade shows to keep abreast of marketing and business trends. (Need to discuss expenses with board beforehand)
  • ·        Maintain and promote a positive professional image within the community.
  • ·        Responsible for staff.
