Gary Bradshaw, President of SMR Farms and his entire team are looking forward to being the host farm of TPI’s 2017 Field Day. SMR Farms is one of southwest Florida’s most successful land management and agri-businesses, continuing a long tradition of delivering a variety of products on the 32,000-acre property in Manatee and Sarasota counties. Their turfgrass operation includes varieties such as Floratam (St. Augustine), Seville (semi-dwarf St. Augustine), Empire (Zoysia), Tifway 419 (Bermuda) and Celebration (Bermuda). They also have 1,800 head of beef cattle, approximately 900 acres of citrus groves for oranges and tangerines, and a tree farm offering over twenty popular varieties of field-grown trees. Their progressive management practices including water, wildlife, and long-term planning exemplify a stewardship of the land. SMR Farms is a great location for TPI’s Field Day where the showcasing of equipment, products and services will include in field demonstrations that include harvesters, mowers, tractors, forklifts, tillers, installers and cultivators, static displays, and a great deal more. There will be plenty to see and it’s sure to be a great Field Day for everyone.
